Community Insights Campaign

Help shape the future of your community!

For 75 years, Snowy Hydro has played a significant role in Australia’s energy landscape, with a strong commitment to supporting the communities in which the Snowy Scheme operates. Earlier this year, a community insights campaign was conducted by a third party, Struber to evaluate the impacts of Snowy Hydro’s operations and the Snowy 2.0 project on local communities.

The findings from this research campaign are now available for review, and a series of community information sessions are being held to discuss these outcomes. These sessions provide an opportunity for community members to engage with the Snowy Hydro team, ask questions, provide feedback, and address key topics such as the Snowy 2.0 project, water management, and research findings.

Thank you for contributing to the conversation

The survey is now closed.

Thank you to those community members who participated in Snowy Hydro’s recent Community Insights Research Campaign.

We received a significant volume of feedback, which speaks to the strength and engagement of our community, and we are giving this data the careful attention and thorough analysis it deserves.

Our team is diligently compiling and analysing the data, and we expect to publish the final report on the Snowy Hydro website later than expected.

The report will now be published in November 2024. We greatly appreciate your patience as we work through this.

We’re committed to ensuring that your insights play a key role in shaping Snowy Hydro’s Social Impact Strategy and our ongoing community engagement initiatives.

In addition to publishing the findings, the Community team will hold several information sessions across the Snowy Mountains. These sessions will provide participants with the opportunity to ask questions and contribute to the recommendations being developed by the Snowy Hydro team.

Why is Snowy Hydro undertaking this campaign?

Snowy Hydro has commissioned a community insights campaign to better understand the social impacts of the Snowy 2.0 project and inform our social impact strategy.

The online survey will gather local views from those who reside across the Snowy Mountains and beyond. The survey asks about your personal experiences and opinions regarding the impacts of the Snowy 2.0 project on the community and the regions – both positive and negative. We also want to know how you would like to see Snowy Hydro support these impacts and what you think is most important.

We will enhance our community support by better understanding how our local community members view Snowy Hydro, the Snowy 2.0 project, and our work.

When is Snowy Hydro undertaking this campaign?

We are having conversations with community members between April and May 2024 to help inform Snowy Hydro’s future community engagement and social impact work.

The results will be published in November 2024.
