The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences & Engineering (ATSE) is devoted to shaping a future through educating and inspiring Australia’s next generation of engineers, scientists and technologists.

Snowy Hydro is proud to be in partnership with ATSE to grow and celebrate excellence in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and support students in STEM with life changing scholarships.

ATSE brings together over 900 of Australia’s leading engineers, applied scientists and technologists to foster a sustainable future, where engineering and applied sciences protect our environment, cultivate a skilled workforce, and drive the growth of competitive industries.

ATSE offers expertise, pathways into STEM and a variety of grant and scholarship programs to enable Australian researchers to collaborate internationally with focus on improving STEM equity and diversity.

Through the ATSE Elevate Program, Snowy Hydro has funded scholarships for two ambitious and talented women from regional Australia. The Scholarship beneficiaries are:

Courtney Bulgarelli: Originally from Mount Isa in far northwest Queensland, Courtney will be studying Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba.

Jessica Thomson: Originally from Darwin in the Northern Territory, Jessica will be studying a Bachelor of Engineering (honours) at Monash University in Melbourne.

The scholarships will not only support Courtney and Jessica financially but also grant them access to the vast ATSE network, including mentoring, professional development workshops, and 24-hour psychosocial wellbeing support.

The Elevate program aims to address inequities in STEM through comprehensive scholarships enabling more diverse women and non-binary people to access tertiary STEM education, professional skills development and STEM leadership opportunities with industry and academia.

Careers in STEM are essential for driving innovation and developing diverse solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.
